Gujarat Birding Tour

Day 1:

Pick up from Ahmedabad airport and leave for Velavadar (140 kms, 3 hrs drive). After reaching at Velavadar, check in at lodge. Have Lunch and then afternoon safari. Velavadar is famous for blackbucks, apart from that we will see, Indian Fox, Jackal, Jungle Cat, Indina Wolf and Hyena. It is also know for the roosting site of Harrier.

Day 2:

Morning safari then check out from lodge and leave for Gir (220 kms, 5hrs drive.) After reaching at Gir. Check in at lodge, have dinner and retire for the day.

Day 3 & 4:

Morning and afternoon safari. Gir is famous for Asiatic Lions, apart from that we will see some other mammals (Leopards) & birds like (Mottled Owl, Rock Bush Quail, White-bellied Minivets, Black Ibis, Painted Sandgrouse, Rufous-fronted Prinia and Nightjar).

Day 5:

Check out from lodge and leave for Bhuj en route birding opportunities  (430 kms, 9 hrs drive). After reaching at Nakhatrana, check in at lodge. Have dinner and retire for the day.

Day 6 & 7:

Morning and afternoon birding session in and around Bhuj. Here we get a chance to see lot of birds and the landscapes also. Here is the list of few species, White-naped Tit, Grey Hypocolius, Indian Marshall’s Lora, Indian Eagle-Owl, Painted Sandgrouse, Skyes’s Lark, White-bellied Minivet. Also we do birding at sea shore, get a chance to see, Lesser Sand Plovers, Crab-Plovers, Bar-tailed-Godwit, Litter Tern and many more.

Day 8:

Check out from Lodge and leave for LRK ( 325 kms, 7 hrs drive). After reaching at LRK, check in at Lodge and then afternoon safari. After safari back to lodge, have dinner and retire for the day.

Day 9:

Morning and afternoon safari. LRK is famous for Wild Ass, apart from that we get a chance to see lot of birds like, Skyes Nightjar, Greater Hoopoe Lark, Indian Courser, McQueen’ Bustard, White-tailed plovers, Dalmatian Pelicans, Demoiselle Crane and raptors like, Tawny Spotted Eagle, Greater Eagle, Pallid Harrier, Montagu’s Harrier, Peregrine Falcon.

Day 10:

Morning safari then check out from LRK and leave for Ahmedabad airport to board the train/flight for your home.
